Durga Khanawal in those days was a tiny hotel. However, Durgabai Jadhav toil brought rich dividends. Her khanawal as they are now, are products of nineteen hours of continuous work everyday, for a span of twenty years. Today her Khanawal has become household name in Maharashtra and popular spot for both the young and the old alike. Celebrities frequently visit our Khanawal. Durga khanawal is running form last 4 generations in this village, is famous for its food in sourrounding district & satara district. Durga khanawal has about, 83 year's of tradition. in the pre-independence period, in 1934, for th convience of eating food when going to mahabaleshwar from vathar station Benzhi has given khanawal lisence to Sonubai Jadhav . and the journey of durga khanawal started. Sonubai started yatra in living room by giving the name of her sister durga. due to age of sonubai durga started helping family meanwhile sonubai son vasantrao got married to Vimal and the futher generation carried this bussiness upto today.
Since from independence period Krantisigh nana patil, Kisanveer & english officer's coming from satara area used to come to eat food at khanawal.Vimalatai proudly sais that last few years the diginitories, ministers, film maker of state have also snuffed the food.
